As the 5th IMEX America wrapped up in Las Vegas, records were broken across the board, with a total of 3,100 companies representing 150 countries exhibiting, including 80 new booths and 56 expanded booth.
In addition, the IMEX hosted buyer program brought a record 3,000 buyers from 54 countries to the show, for a total 10,600 people participating in the event.
There were 66,000 business appointments of which more than 57,000 were one-to-one appointments and booth presentations.

With Las Vegas being chosen as one of four cities to host a presidential debate during the 2016 election season, any question on whether it’s a city where serious business gets done should be off the table, according to Chris Meyer, vice president of Global Business Sales at the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority.
“It takes away all possible argument of shows coming to Vegas,” Meyer said, an issue the city has grappled with, particularly in the government sector.
He added, “We’ll have both presidential candidates here and leadership from both of the parties.”

The off-price industry is enjoying a heyday in which more national retailers are turning to the channel looking for a boost, and the OFFPRICE Show in Las Vegas remains a vital place to go for stores of all sizes from across the country.
This year’s summer show, held in August at the Sands Expo & Convention Center during Las Vegas Fashion Week, not only saw an uptick in attendance, but also in net square footage.

Urban Expositions has acquired Womenswear in Nevada (WWIN) trade show from Specialty Trade Shows, Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The ownership transition began immediately following the Aug. 17-20 edition of the semi-annual womenswear apparel trade show held at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.

Attendees and exhibitors to this year’s IMEX America, on tap Oct. 13-15 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, will experience a show that’s even greener than last year’s.

Emerald Expositions’ASD Marketweek not only scored 14-percent growth in buyer attendance, compared with last year, but also VIP attendance surged 23 percent throughout the four-day show.

Global Gaming Expo 2015, for the casino gaming industry, is broadening its scope by launching the “Integrated Resort Experience at G2E,” presenting innovative non-gaming technology, products and services as guests would experience them in a gaming-resort setting.
This new effort will deliver a complete “end-to-end” solution to help casinos attract more guests, encourage them to stay and play longer, and increase revenue per visitor, according to show organizers.

Hospitality design is booming, with the Emerald Expositions’ HD Expo, held May 13-15 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, drawing a record crowd and exhibitors.
There were 10,260 registered attendees at the show, which is produced by Hospitality Design magazine, marking a 10-percent increase from last year. The showfloor had 255,200 square feet of booth space, which was also an increase from 2014.

Bridging the gap between online and brick-and-mortal retail was the theme of GlobalShop 2015, the annual store design and retail marketing event that took place March 24-26 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
As retailers look for ways to tap into the new consumer shopping preferences, the show is seeing strong growth. Pre-registration was up 25 percent, compared with 2014, which had come in at about 12,000 attendees. The show featured 760 exhibitors, including 200 new, and took up more than 215,000 square feet.

For the past two years, Emerald Expositions’ Interbike has taken up four halls at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, and now it’s set to expand to even more space.
The show previously filled halls A, B, C and D in the venue’s South Convention Center area and has added hall E to the mix.
