The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) plans to hold a road show in Japan later this month. The “Thailand Connect the World: Japan Business Events Road Show 2015” will be held April 21 at the Imperial Hotel, Tokyo. The highest-ever attended Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition 2015 concluded in March with huge increases in both exhibitor and visitor figures as the fair took place for the first time at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (Shanghai). This week, NASDAQ-listed Global Sources reported its full-year revenues for the year ended Dec. 31, 2014. Revenues in 2014 were US$198.2 million – similar to the US$197.5 million recorded in 2013. IFRS net income in 2014 was US$18.3 million down from US$32.7 million – representing a 44 percent decline in profits. Revenues from its online platforms dropped nearly 11 percent, falling from US$104.6 million in 2013 down to US$93.3 million last year. Earl C. Hargrove, founder of Hargrove, a general service contracting company, passed away at age 86. Hargrove CEO Tim McGill and President Carla Hargrove-McGill issued the following statement: “It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news that Earl C. Hargrove, Jr., an icon of the events industry, passed away peacefully early this morning surrounded by his family. Bridging the gap between online and brick-and-mortal retail was the theme of GlobalShop 2015, the annual store design and retail marketing event that took place March 24-26 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.   As retailers look for ways to tap into the new consumer shopping preferences, the show is seeing strong growth.
