bXb Online Launches BOB.tv at American Society of Association Executives Annual Meeting & Exposition

August 6, 2013

Have you ever wondered where you could go to see a ton of different videos and other content related to not only your work, but also your career and life?

bxb Online recently launched BOB.tv – Best of Business, an online learning destination for business professionals, at a press conference held Aug. 5 at the American Society of Association Executives Annual Meeting & Exposition in Atlanta.

Tony Lorenz, founder of bxb Online, said the plan to develop BOB.tv was first announced at the Professional Convention Management Association’s Convening Leaders annual meeting 18 months ago.

“We are offering online content to the global community,” he added.

Several industry associations signed on as founding partners, such as ASAE, PCMA, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events and Meeting Professionals International.

In a show of support, all four leaders of these associations stood next to Lorenz and BOB.tv Chief Technology Officer Peter Wigren when they unveiled BOB.tv at the press conference.

“As BOB.tv was created from the input of its Founding Partners and their members in the events industry, it is especially rewarding to unveil the BtoB Events Industry Network, the first of what will be several industry networks serving a variety of global business communities,” Lorenz said.

He added that one way to think of BOB.tv was like what ESPN does for sports, BOB.tv will be the go-to place for the events industry.

Deborah Sexton, PCMA’s president and CEO, said she has known Lorenz for a long time and was one of the early supporters of BOB.tv.

“Tony sees around the corner and he sees the future,” she added. “This is how our members are going to engage with us.”

Wigren demonstrated how the Web site works for everyone in the room, pointing out that all of the content, which is related to work, life or career, is curated.

He added that most of the content is videos right now, but they also will be providing news articles, blogs and other forms of content. In addition, the entire site is social, in which people can directly engage with each other, and it is fully mobile-enabled. Lastly, users have the ability to rate content as well.

Lorenz encouraged everyone to become a BOB.tv registered user, which is free. “Go in and check it out, explore and become a ‘Bobster’,” he added.
