Working around trade shows and events, the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has completed a $20 million renovation of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The 54-year-old facility now sports a few façade, better parking, updated interior and an improved experience for attendees and exhibitors. Bargain apparel, accessories and footwear event, OFFPRICE Show, posted strong numbers Aug. 17-20 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas. The show has seen boon times during the recession, with both of its biannual editions being honored as TSNN fastest-growing shows. The February OFFPRICE Show set records, with square footage and highest attendance in four years. There were more than 525 exhibitors on 130,000-plus net square feet and attendance was at 11,006. Arnold, Md.-based mobile app provider Core-apps has decided to expand by acquiring Las Vegas-based event software management company GoExpo. “Core-apps is excited to offer the GoExpo software as our own. Our customers kept asking us to develop this type of offering so they would not have to manage multiple vendors to get their event done,” said Jay Tokosch, Core-apps CEO and co-founder.
