Just less than 1,500 meetings professionals attended American Society of Association Executive’s annual Springtime Expo at the Walter E. Washington (D.C.) Toner V, vice president, convention and industry relations at United Fresh Produce Association, may spend up to 100 days on the road every year promoting his organization and its trade show, but the time on planes, in hotels and on showfloors is worth the return on investment. “The trade show is the primary revenue generator here and (promoting the show on the road) is the only way I know how to really drive revenue,” Toner said. Reed Exhibitions China’s SinoCorrugated South and SinoFoldingCarton 2014, recently held at the Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center (GMIEC) in Houjie, Dongguan, was the largest ever.  A total of 29,114 trade visitors and more than 600 well-known equipment suppliers participated, as well as several of the international and local suppliers debuted new products onsite. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) hosted close to 240 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions at the 5th Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair. Jointly organised by the HKTDC and Hong Kong Medical & Healthcare Device Industries Association (HKMHDIA), the three-day show ran from 7th to 9th May at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Over 200 exhibiting companies joined this year’s Industrial Automation Beijing at the Beijing Exhibition Centre to occupy a total exhibition area of 20,000 m2. Industrial Automation Beijing is organised by Hannover Milano Fairs China, a joint subsidiary of Deutsche Messe and Fiera Milano.   According to the organiser, participation from international attendees reached 60% this year.
