Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) launched 2016 Fiscal Year Kick Off, announced its plan to bring in regional media conferences of global scale. The first event to note is the 14th CNBC Asia Business Leader Award 2015, which will take place from 28th to 29th October 2015, at Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. Over 200 foreign business leaders and another 100 local guests are expected to join the event. Airgate Holdings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ITE Group, has acquired an additional 31.7% share of Mumbai-based ABEC Exhibitions for around £14 million (US$21 million). Including the 28.3% share acquired in December 2012, ITE Group now holds up to 60% share of ABEC. ABEC Exhibitions is a leading exhibition organiser in India, running over 20 events across industries from building & interiors, oil & gas to fashion. Laying the foundation for the eventual departure of Joe Loggia, CEO of UBM Advanstar, at the end of the year, UBM Americas has made several new appointments to its U.S.-based Fashion Group, including bringing Chris DeMoulin back into the fold. The 2015 NACS Show attracted a record 24,392 registered attendees, of which 9,038 were classified as buyers (retailers, convenience distributors). The total number of registered attendees, which includes Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) buyer registration, was 3.3-percent higher than last year and topped the previous attendance record set in 2004.
