Negative show rotation was a key factor in Global Experience Specialists’ overall U.S.-based third-quarter revenue posting a 14.6 percent decrease to $143.5 million, compared with the same quarter last year with $168.1 million. Even with the dip, the good news was same-show revenue continued to surge with 4.7 percent growth in the third quarter, compared with the same quarter last year. “GES delivered better results in the third quarter than we had previously anticipated. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ CONEXPO-CON/AGG already is the largest show in the United States, and now it’s reaching new heights in South America as well. Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) brought together a broad base of DMO industry leaders and thought leaders during the organization’s first-ever Strategic Innovation Summit, held Oct. 7-8 in Dallas. ITB Asia, the ‘Trade Show for the Asian Travel Market’, has extended its collaboration with Marina Bay Sands for another three years from 2017 to 2019. The show first signed an agreement with the integrated resort from 2014-2016, where Marina Bay Sands was announced as the official venue and official hotel. After its successful premiere in 2015, C-star, Shanghai's International Trade Fair for Solutions and Trends all about Retail, will return May 18-20 next year to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. In 2016, C-star will occupy two halls in order to give exhibitors more space to present their latest innovations and solutions for the retail sector.
