The recently concluded edition of plastics and rubber trade show, CHINAPLAS, reached a new show record of 2,969 exhibitors spread over 220,000 m2 of exhibition space. Organised by Hong Kong-based Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., CHINAPLAS was held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex from 20th to 23rd May 2013.
Adsale also reported the attendance of 114,103 visitors from 138 countries and regions, up 21% over the previous edition held in Guangzhou. Close to 27% of all visitors originated from overseas, with the top ten destinations including India, Hong Kong, Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam and Turkey. CHINAPLAS hosted 15 country/regional pavilions this year.
Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition, said, “Despite a gloomy economic environment in developed countries, Chinese market presents plenty of opportunities as the local manufacturing industry is undergoing structural upgrade. Chinese enterprises are in need of automation and advanced machines to cope with rising labour cost and intensified global competition. The continual increase of overseas visitors denotes the significant role of China as the global sourcing platform.”
The 2014 edition of CHINAPLAS will take place from 23rd to 26th April at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
