The 3rd Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show, organized by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), was held March 1-5 at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE).
The 33rd Hong Kong International Jewellery Show also was held March 3-7 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
The two events featured more than 4,380 exhibitors from 54 countries and regions.
The Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show showcased jewellery raw materials including quality diamonds, previous gems, semi-precious stones and pearls.

U.K.-based dmg events has acquired Pan African exhibition organizer, Exhibition Management Services Pty Ltd (EMS), which is headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This acquisition is part of our strategy to become key event players in Africa. EMS offers a strategic hub in Africa’s largest economy,” said Geoff Dickinson, CEO, dmg events.
EMS adds five shows to the existing portfolio of dmg events:

Mega Expo, formerly known as Kenfair, a Hong Kong based exhibition organiser, reported its interim results for the six months ended on 31st December 2015. The company reported revenues of US$19.7 million, down by 15%.
The large drop pushed Mega Expo into a net loss position. The company reported a loss of US$2.2 million, down from a profit of US$5.6 million in the same period last year.
The majority of its income came from exhibition organising which fell by 11% to US$19.6 million. Revenue from exhibition services dropped by almost 90% to US$354,000.

Messe Frankfurt, will partner with Shanghai Pudong International Exhibition Company to launch the first edition of Smart Industry Solution Shanghai (SISS). The event will be held from 28th to 30th June 2016 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
The show will be added to the umbrella of SPS IPS Drives events worldwide. It is a sister event of SPS – Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou in China. The inaugural fair will focus on three major areas including cyber technologies, manufacturing and resources.

Guangzhou International Travel Fair 2016 (GITF 2016), organised by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd, was held from 25th to 27th February in China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou.
This year’s fair featured 956 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions, with 63% of the exhibitors coming from overseas. The show covered 28,600 m2 of gross space. Sri Lanka was GITF’s partner country this year. Sri Lanka brought 32 local companies, covering over 200 m2.

The Expo Group has named Randy Pekowski president of the company, of which he already serves as COO.
Founder and former President Ray Pekowski will remain CEO and chairman of the business.
The promotion is part of the strategic succession plan the company has put in place for the next generation of leadership.
