The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is continuing its ASEAN Rising Trade Show (ART) campaign to support the Thai exhibition industry through promoting the country as a high potential marketplace for the ASEAN market. The ART campaign is expected to run for three years from 2015 with the goal to raise the profile and standard of the Thai exhibition industry. The recent staging of ProWine China 2015, International Trade Fair for Wines and Spirits, in Shanghai drew around 600 wine and spirits producers from 33 countries presented their products. The event featured 16 country pavilions and three regional pavilions. The majority of the exhibitors was from France, followed by Italy, Spain and Argentina and included many large wine producers such as KWV, Les Grands Chais de France, Constellation Brands and LCW. Global Sources, a leading business-to-business media group based in Hong Kong, has recently reported its financial results for the third quarter ending Sept. 30. Revenue from continuing operations was US$23.5 million, down from US$31.7 million in 2014. The company also posted an IFRS net loss of US$4.6 million. In the same quarter last year, Global Sources recorded a net profit of US$1.9 million. The decline in revenue hit all of Global Sources core businesses. The fifth edition of Singapore Airshow, organized by Experia Events, will be held from 16th to 21st February 2016. Over 1,000 companies from some 50 countries have confirmed their attendance at the show, according to the organiser. Over 90% of exhibition space has been sold and 75% of the space has been taken by returning exhibitors and industry leaders. Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) has released the city’s MICE statistics for the third quarter of 2015. The city hosted 29 exhibitions and 184 conferences – an increase of 12% and 19% year-on-year respectively. The total number of participants and attendees at Macau’s MICE events increased by an impressive 41% to reach 1,009,794. Large-scale exhibition led the growth for the quarter recording an attendee increase of nearly 43% year-on-year to 993,848. Among the 29 exhibitions, 17 of them reported 20,000 participants or more.
