The UFI Board of Directors has elected Craig Newman, CEO of the Johannesburg Expo Centre, as the president of UFI for the 2018/2019 term. The decision was made at a board meeting during UFI European Conference in Cologne, Germany and becomes effective at the conclusion of the 83rd UFI Global Congress, running Nov. 1-4 in Johannesburg. Billed as the only exhibition serving the corrugated and folding carton industry in the Southeast Asia, CCE South East Asia 2018, increased the show’s floor plan by more than 40 percent since the inaugural edition in 2016. The inaugural Phuket RendezVous will be held at the Royal Phuket Marina from 4th to 7th January 2018. The new event will replace the 14-year old Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX). Royal Phuket Marina will partner with Asia RendezVous, an Asian luxury lifestyle event organiser, to host the Phuket RendezVous. UBM SES, formerly Singapore Exhibition Services, announced its Chief Executive, Lindy Wee, will step down and serve as a Non-Executive Director. Paul Wan, Managing Director of UBM Singapore, will take on the Chief Executive role effective from 1st July 2017.
