Earlier this week, Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released its MICE statistics for the first quarter of 2018. A total of 328 MICE events were held in Macau in the quarter, representing a decrease of 38 events compared with the same quarter last year.
However, the total number of participants and attendees increased by 25% year-on-year reaching 278,000 participants at MICE events in the quarter. According to DSEC, a total of 314 meetings and conferences were held during the quarter, which is down by approximately 30 events. Just over 71,000 participants attended these meetings… more

Verventia Pte Limited, the owner of the Singapore and Thailand Yacht Shows, and Asia RendezVous Pte Limited, organiser of the Phuket, Penang and Singapore RendezVous events, announced this week that the two companies had agreed to collaborate and to produce only one yacht show in Thailand and one show Singapore.

The launch edition of Tarsus Group's Labelexpo Southeast Asia – the biggest label and package printing event in the region – has exceeded all expectations, with 7,934 attendees from 62 countries flocking to BITEC in Bangkok, Thailand for the three-day show May 10-12.

Bizzabo, an events cloud, revealed that the company hit processing more than $100 million in gross paid registrations for its customers.
Further, $47 million of the total ticket sales occurred in the past six months alone.

The mergers and acquisitions market continues to tick away with new activity as two recent companies – Endeavor Business Media and Caribou Media Group - both made recent buys.
Caribou Media Group acquired two events and one publication from F+W Media.
The BLADE Show, now in its 37th year, is the largest knife event in North America. It is held each year at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, draws 15,000 enthusiast attendees and sells 170,000 square feet of exhibit space to 800 exhibiting companies.

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research reports that the recent growth of the exhibition industry continued during the first quarter of 2018.
The performance of the industry, as measured by the CEIR Total Index, posted a decent year-over-year gain of 1.8 percent, even though it underperformed the overall macroeconomy.
