Reed Exhibitions Grows Korean Presence by Acquiring Four Key Trade Shows

June 7, 2016

Reed Exhibitions continues to expand its presence in South Korea. The world-leading events organizer recently announced its acquisition of the Electronics Manufacturing Korea show and three of the Home Table Deco Fairs held across multiple cities in the country.

The events have been acquired from K.Fairs, a highly regarded trade fair organizer in Korea, with whom Reed had already partnered in 2014 to organize Kormarine, Korea's largest international maritime industry event.

The acquisition introduces four new exhibitions to Reed's growing global portfolio of electronics manufacturing and home decoration events. Electronics Manufacturing Korea (EMK) is Korea's largest electronics manufacturing exhibition. It showcases equipment, materials and technologies for the electronics manufacturing industry at Seoul each year.

The Home Table Deco Fair (HTD Fair) is a major event in the home décor industry. It is held across multiple locations, including Daegu, Busan and Seoul, profiling the latest premium home styling trends and showcasing a wide array of luxury brands to business leaders, homeowners, buyers, decorators and designers from all over the world.

Reed Exhibitions Asia-Pacific President Paul Beh said, "These acquisitions are very much in line with our efforts to reinforce Reed's intent and capacity to grow in Korea."

He added, "As one of the largest economies in Asia, we recognize the significant potential of this country and will rapidly expand our presence even further in future. We see attractive prospects for EMK and HTD Fair, and we'll work as hard as we can to further enhance the prospects of these shows as they join the Reed family of events."

CEO of K.Fairs, SK Hong, commented, “K.Fairs has always strived very hard to create trade shows that are great experiences for the participants and that deliver high value for each of the stakeholder interests we serve. That's why EMK and HTD Fair have been so successful. We're excited to progress these shows to the next level, through Reed Exhibitions, which, I firmly believe, is the ideal partner to help us enhance the excellent value we deliver to our customers."
