When next week’s Texworld USA opens its doors July 24-26 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York, the show will have record exhibitor participation on the showfloor, with 328 companies and associations from 14 countries. Messe Frankfurt’s show is in its 13th edition and will feature first-time exhibitors from Brazil, Lebanon and Malaysia, while participation from key sourcing regions such as Turkey, Hong Kong and Korea has increased. AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology’s IMTS – International Manufacturing Technology Show is just around the corner, and the organization announced it has teamed with Trillium CNC/CNC Jobs for its first-ever IMTS 2012 Job Center. Exhibitors at the Summer Fancy Food Show in Washington, D.C., donated more than 135,000 pounds of specialty chocolate, cheese, olive oil, pasta sauces, meats and produce - enough to fill six tractor trailers - to area residents in need. The donation to the Capital Area Food Bank, the Washington metropolitan area’s largest hunger relief organization, is helping to provide 100,000 meals to people at risk for hunger. UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry’s 9th Global Barometer Survey that was conducted in June indicates, while the global economy still seems to be struggling, the trade show industry has remained on a stable path through the recession. In the past three years, on average, six out of 10 companies that were surveyed indicated they had increase in their turnover. Depending on the region, almost 40 percent of surveyed companies registered an increase in annual profits of more than 10 percent, which has been a relatively stable growth for the past three years.
