Cleveland Chosen as Host City for the 5th Annual 2014 TSNN Awards: Celebrating Trade Show Excellence

March 18, 2014

Trade Show News Network is pleased to announce Cleveland has been chosen as the host city for the 5th Annual 2014 TSNN Awards: Celebrating Trade Show Excellence.

More than 50 show organizers from the fastest-growing events in the United States will be feted during the three-day weekend event Nov. 14-16 (www.T-awards.com).

“We are very excited to bring the 2014 TSNN Awards to Cleveland,” said TSNN President Rachel Wimberly. “We have no doubt that the award winners will be very impressed with everything the city has to offer as a high-value trade show destination.”

Cleveland has plenty to show off, and is the perfect choice for this year’s event, with a duo of new venues – the Cleveland Convention Center and the Global Center for Health Innovation - as well as the International Exposition Center (I-X Center).

“With $2.7 billion in meetings-related infrastructure development including a new convention center and more than a 55-percent increase in Downtown hotel rooms, Cleveland is excited to host the 2014 TSNN Awards,” said Mike Burns, senior vice president of convention sales and services at Positively Cleveland.

He added, “Hosting more than 50 of North America’s most successful and powerful trade show  managers and leadership is beneficial to Northeast Ohio and a great opportunity to showcase the 1 million square foot International Exposition (I-X) Center, the new Global Center for Health Innovation and Cleveland Convention Center, along with our region’s hotels, attractions, restaurants, and other venues.”

The weekend will kick off with an opening reception, followed by a Saturday conference featuring the “State of the Industry” panel and a special lunch keynote.

That evening, the awards gala will be held at the Global Center for Health Innovation during which the top fastest-growing shows for attendance and net square footage will be named, the “Best of Show” will be revealed and the “Industry Icon” will be honored.

The TSNN Awards’ founding sponsor, The Expo Group, also will honor five show organizers from different-sized events for the Show Manager of the Year (SMOTY) Awards.

"Cleveland has great leaders who recognize the value of hosting innovative show managers," said The Expo Group President and CEO Ray Pekowski. "It is an exciting time to be in this business and be part of the TSNN Awards. This will be a great setting to honor The Expo Group Show Manager of the Year award winners for 2014. We are looking forward to receiving all the nominations."

The final day will feature a Sunday Brunch at the I-X Center during the Fabulous Food Show, where there will be plenty of surprises at the event filled with amazing food and celebrity chefs.

This weekend-long celebration is where the best and the brightest in the business will gather to network, connect and celebrate working in an industry like no other – and acknowledging and embracing the success that they have mutually achieved.
