Allcal Impresses Attendees at Project Anime

August 4, 2018

At its second run as the official event app for Project Anime, the annual conference for anime convention organizers, Allcal Events made yet another splash with attendees and show organizers alike.

Held July 3-4 at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles, Project Anime precedes the popular Anime Expo, held annually at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Both events are run by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA).

“Project Anime is a B2B conference that bridges Anime Event Organizers with Japanese Pop Culture Industry Professionals to connect, network and support each other,” explained Neko Davis, Project Anime coordinator.

She continued, “Through the help of Allcal, the Project Anime team was able to provide an effortless and above standard experience. This app allowed for the conference attendees to stay informed, plan out their days, get alerts and also interact with the app in ways that encouraged them to also want Allcal for their events.”

As a complete event schedule management solution for event organizers, Allcal Events allows users to build their own mobile event apps and branded online schedules as well as sell tickets.

Lance Heiskell, Allcal head of marketing, hosted a panel at Project Anime, during which he highlighted and demonstrated Allcal’s capabilities by building a sample event calendar in real time.

After asking attendees how long it typically takes them to build their event calendars, Heiskell imported an Excel spreadsheet into the platform, which instantly created 86 events on the sample calendar.

“My favorite part was the audible ‘wow’ heard in the audience when they saw how fast it is to build a full event calendar with Allcal,” Heiskell said.

Launched in 2016, Allcal is no stranger to working with large and small pop culture and anime festivals, conferences and conventions, including Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con; RuPaul’s DragCon; Project Anime: Tokyo; Kitsunekon; Dallas Startup Week; Scare LA and the Philadelphia Film Festival.

“We love Project Anime, this is our crowd” said Daniel Cocanougher, CEO of Allcal. “We’ve worked with many events and conventions in the past couple of years, several of whom we met at Project Anime. We will be back next year.”
