Last year was a good one for convention business in the City of Brotherly Love. According to the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB), 2016 marked its highest convention booking year ever, with 713 events using 903,199 hotel room nights secured for future years.
Those figures represent an 18.2 percent and a 5.8 percent increase in the number of events and room nights secured, respectively, compared with 2015.

The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau has launched a new suite of virtual site tour products designed to give meeting and event planners a taste of the destination while incorporating digital innovation and convenience into the sales and event planning process.

EXPO MANUFACTURA 2017, an event jointly organized by Tarsus Group and E.J. Krause & Associates for the manufacturing and processing industry in Mexico, was held Feb. 7-9 and drew more than 12,500 professionals to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
The three-day event, under the theme “Manufacturing 4.0: Maximum productivity and competitiveness”, brought together more than 600 brands and technology solutions from 311 exhibiting companies.

Recently, international exhibition organiser, Koelnmesse GmbH, announced Mathias Küpper had officially been appointed as Managing Director of Koelnmesse Pte. Ltd. in Singapore – succeeding Michael Dreyer. The two had shared the management position for an interim period of several months.
