The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has concluded its 37th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and the 21st electronicAsia running from 13th to 16th October 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The two co-located trade fairs featured some 4,300 exhibitors from 25 countries and regions. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s (TMG) plan to close Tokyo’s largest purpose-built exhibition venue, Tokyo Big Sight (TBS), during the 2020 Summer Olympics has led to street protests by Japan’s exhibition industry association. TBS will be used as the international press centre during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. As a result of this plan, about 300 members of the Japan Exhibition Association (JEXA) protested outside the offices of the TMG on 5th October. SMG has been busy helping the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland amp up its sustainability goals by partnering with show organizers and exhibitors to cut back on event waste while giving back to the local community.
