CORT Events Partners with Social Tables to Provide 3D Space Planning Design Experience

CORT Event Furnishings has become the first rental company to offer a free 3D space planning design tool to its clients.

The meetings, exhibit and events industry furnishings provider recently partnered with Social Tables, an event management software company, to integrate a proprietary custom version of Social Tables’ online Space Planner on CORT’s website.

Clients have the ability to design their event in 2D, view and share in 3D and automatically request quotes for CORT products based on their design.

Visit Anaheim Unveils First Virtual Reality Destination Video

Visit Anaheim has harnessed the power of virtual reality by launching its first VR video showcasing authentic Anaheim experiences for the meetings and events industry.

The immersive video is the newest addition to the destination marketing association’s set of marketing tools it is leveraging to educate show organizers and meeting planners about the southern California destination, as well as give them a sense of what it’s like to be an event attendee in Anaheim.

Kaon Interactive’s new augmented reality solution, Kaon AR, made a big splash in Las Vegas – so much so it won the EXHIBITORLive 2017 New Product Showcase Buyer’s Choice Award.

Kaon AR was one of 44 products debuted in the New Product Showcase at EXHIBITOR, an annual event for trade show and corporate event marketers that took place March 12-16 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

The software company was one of five innovators to take home the annual award that recognizes the top product innovations of the year. 

Smart City Networks Signs New Two-year Contract with Hawaii Convention Center

Convention industry telecommunications provider Smart City Networks has signed a two-year contract with Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), which manages the Hawai’i Convention Center.

The contract stipulates that Smart City now is the Honolulu-based facility’s exclusive internet and data services provider through Dec. 2018.

The tech company had been operating under an interim agreement since Nov. 2016, after which Smart City completed an entire overhaul of the HCC’s data and wireless capabilities in a record-setting 27 days.

GES Buys Live Attendee Engagement Technology Provider Poken

GES, a global full-service provider for live events, has acquired Poken, a cloud-based event management platform.

“This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to being the preferred global live events partner offering the most comprehensive breadth of technology and services,” said GES President Steve Moster.

He added, “We know our clients want engagement and concrete metrics from their events. They will benefit from the technology and insight capabilities that Poken and our existing Visit solution offer together.”

ACVB Unveils Enhanced Virtual Reality Tours for Event Planners

The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau has launched a new suite of virtual site tour products designed to give meeting and event planners a taste of the destination while incorporating digital innovation and convenience into the sales and event planning process.

The enhancements feature three new itineraries that are the latest addition to ACVB’s existing VR experiences, which were unveiled last Aug. 13-16 at ASAE in Salt Lake City.
