Coex in Seoul will welcome the first edition of Comic Con Seoul this summer running from Aug. 4-6.
Organized by ReedPOP, Comic Con Seoul will showcase the latest pop culture trends.
Comic Con Seoul will feature comics, movies, video games, cosplay, anime, etc. During the three-day event, Korea Championships of Cosplay will also be held, while the Comic Con Seoul Artist Alley will allow visitors to interact with creative writers, illustrators and designers.

EXPO MANUFACTURA 2017, an event jointly organized by Tarsus Group and E.J. Krause & Associates for the manufacturing and processing industry in Mexico, was held Feb. 7-9 and drew more than 12,500 professionals to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.
The three-day event, under the theme “Manufacturing 4.0: Maximum productivity and competitiveness”, brought together more than 600 brands and technology solutions from 311 exhibiting companies.
EXPO MANUFACTURA’s footprint grew 9 percent, assembling the largest event to date and had an 18 percent increase in attendance.

Recently, international exhibition organiser, Koelnmesse GmbH, announced Mathias Küpper had officially been appointed as Managing Director of Koelnmesse Pte. Ltd. in Singapore – succeeding Michael Dreyer. The two had shared the management position for an interim period of several months.
Küpper has worked for Koelnmesse since 2002 in Singapore. He has extensive event and project management experience and has been involved in strategic business development in the Asia in recent years. UBM, the organizer of Aquaculture Vietnam 2017 launched the event Feb. 22 at a press conference in Can Tho, Vietnam.

Mega Expo, formerly known as Kenfair, a Hong Kong based exhibition organiser, reported its interim results for the six months ended on 31st December 2016. The company reported revenues of US$12 million, down by 40% year-on-year. Mega Expo posted a net loss of US$1.5 million in the six-month period, compared with a loss of US$2.2 million in the same period of the previous year.
The vast majority of its revenue is generated by its exhibition organising business, which fell by 40%. Revenues from exhibition-related services dropped by 97%, down to just US$9,000.

The largest privately-owned convention centre in southern Philippines, SMX Convention Center Davao, plans to expand its facilities.
The new building will start construction later this year and will connect with the existing SMX Davao facility. The capacity of the new building has not yet been confirmed, but management claims that it will be expanded to accommodate up to 7,500 pax.
After the completion of the new facilities, the venue will aim to host larger and more international events. The new facilities are expected to be completed in late 2018 or early 2019.
