At events, capturing memorable moments is more important than ever. In a recent interview for Tech Talk, CEN’s Danica Tormohlen sat down with Jonathan Jow, director of strategy for BoothEasy, to delve into how the company is elevating event experiences with its instant photo and video services.

For event organizers looking to not only raise the bar on the attendee experience but also create FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) on social channels, photo and videos services like BoothEasy offer a compelling blend of technology and creativity to make every moment count.

At the recent DMC Network Exchange event at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, Jow explained the company's focus on providing nationwide interactive, engaging, and immersive photo and video experiences, emphasizing the importance of instant sharing and branding integration. For example, event logos, sponsor branding, dates, and location can be embedded into the design of sharable photos and videos.

Here are highlights from our conversation. Watch or listen to the full interview here.

Quick Take

BoothEasy's integration of artificial intelligence, focus on instant sharing, and ability to customize activations provide opportunities for event organizers and exhibitors to enhance engagement and leave a lasting impression on attendees. The service is not only about capturing moments to share with a wider audience but also about creating an immersive and memorable experience onsite for sponsors and attendees, Jow said.

Serving Event Organizers and Exhibitors

Catering to both event organizers and individual exhibitors, BoothEasy’s services range from full content coverage, including photography and videography, to interactive photo experiences like photo booths and AI-driven concepts, Jow explained. A notable feature is their instant headshot experience, allowing attendees to immediately get professional headshots edited and ready for use on platforms like LinkedIn.

The Power of Instant Sharing

Jow highlighted the significance of instant sharing in today's attention economy. With social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram dominating people's time, immediate content sharing from events is critical. By allowing for instant posting on social media, BoothEasy helps event organizers amplify their reach and create a sense of FOMO among their customers and prospects who may not have been able to attend.

AI Integration in Photo Experiences

One of the intriguing aspects of BoothEasy's services is their use of artificial intelligence. Jow explained how AI is used for various touch-ups on headshots and even for generating creative photo experiences. Examples include transforming attendees into superheroes or placing them in fantastical settings, all while ensuring the output is consistent with client expectations and free from wild deviations.

Custom Activations

BoothEasy handles numerous large-scale events weekly, deploying teams nationally across 12 cities. The company also offers unique activations, such as 360 cameras at red carpet events and interactive murals at high-end consumer activations. The customizable experiences, like glam bots and custom sports trading cards, have seen significant popularity, especially among sports and pop culture events.

Future Trends and Adoption

While high-end social events are leading the adoption of these cutting-edge technologies, Jow expressed optimism that such innovations would eventually trickle down to B2B events. He encouraged more adventurous planners to explore and adopt new technologies to enhance event engagement and create memorable experiences.
