MeetGreen Launches My Event Footprint Sustainability App

April 26, 2019

Event organizers and professionals who want to understand the environmental impact of the events they plan or attend now have a free and engaging new tool to help them do just that: My Event Footprint

Developed by sustainable conference management agency MeetGreen, this web-based app for event organizers, attendees and sustainability professionals generates sustainability facts based on user data, to help drive decisions and quantify data.

With just 15 quick questions, a segment of a user’s environmental impact is measured in water, energy and emissions, with data displayed in a fun, easy-to-understand storytelling fashion using bathtubs, household power or car miles saved.

My Event Footprint

According to Nancy Zavada, founder and CEO of MeetGreen, while the agency had been using an internal calculator for the past five years to provide their clients with fun facts on the impact of individuals and groups attending their events, MeetGreen’s team wanted this helpful tool to be publicly available and shared freely. Thus, they decided to develop a web-based app that everyone could use.

“This tool makes it easy to ‘see’ the difference that we can all make,” Zavada said. “One of the stumbling blocks to sustainability is visualizing how individual choices make a difference. My Event Footprint gives you the raw data and a storytelling factoid to share.”

Event organizers, individuals and sustainability directors alike can use My Event Footprint to easily calculate the environmental savings of their choices that they can then share with key stakeholders during or after the event, Zavada added.

As an ISO 20121-certified firm that works with progressive global organizations to integrate leading event sustainability practices and produce events delivering targeted business results, MeetGreen’s 25 years of expertise in the sustainable event field and data-driven work make it uniquely qualified to develop this product, Zavada said.

“Our hope is it provides education, greater understanding and fun to an otherwise complex subject!” she said.
