Imagine you are on a site tour of a convention center and you’re standing in the middle of the empty hall. You’re trying to picture, in your head, what the hall would look like if you decided to go with midnight blue carpet in the aisles and gold for the pipe and drape.

During a recent team building training at my workplace, I heard a great story about internal conflict resolution styles and how these affect the end result.
Two employees, Chris from sales and Ana from professional services, both want the last remaining orange in the break room. A seemingly reasonable solution would be to compromise and split the orange in half. That makes perfect sense, right?

Reed Exhibitions’ decision to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines at its upcoming Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show and the ensuing outcry not only from exhibitors and the National Rifle Association, but also the National Shooting Sports Foundation – owner of Reed-produced SHOT Show, has led to the postponement of the ESOS.

Malaysia will host Asia’s future leading architects in 2014 when they convene in the country for the 16th Asian Congress of Architects 2014 (ACA 2014).
The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) announced the congress will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

This year was a very good one for the MICE industry in Thailand, with targeted visitor numbers for 2012 of 750,000 being exceeded by 19 percent to 895,224 visitors.
"Thailand's MICE industry is growing strongly despite the economic crises in Europe and USA. The 2012 figures have exceeded our annual target of 750,000 MICE visitors in 2012, and are a clear vote of confidence in Thailand as a cost-effective MICE destination,” said Thongchai Sridama, acting president of TCEB.

The 8th UFI Open Seminar in Asia in Jakarta, produced by UFI, The Global Association for the Exhibition Industry, will kick off Feb. 28- March 1, featuring sessions with leaders in the industry.

According to Hong Kong’s Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Greg So Kam-leung, the special administrative region’s government has no current plans to expand the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

In October 2023, the Orange County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve allocating Tourist Development Tax funding for the $560 million Phase 5A completion of the OCCC. The Convention Way Grand Concourse project will include enhancements to the North-South Building, featuring an additional 60,000 square feet of meeting space, an 80,000- square-foot ballroom and new entry to the North-South Building along Convention Way.
“We are thrilled to begin work on completing our North-South Building which will allow us to meet the growing needs of our clients,” said OCCC Executive Director Mark Tester. “As an economic driver for the community, this project will provide the Center with connectivity and meeting space to host more events and continue to infuse the local economy with new money and expanding business opportunities.”
