Tarsus Group has promoted Trade Show News Network Editor-in-Chief Rachel Wimberly to president of the division, effective immediately.

Wimberly will be taking over for Stephen Nold, who will be leaving TSNN and Tarsus Advon to pursue other business interests. Tarsus Group has best wishes to Stephen in his new endeavors.

Wimberly joined TSNN in May 2010 after the closing of Reed Business Information’s Tradeshow Week magazine, which previously served the industry as the leading print trade show publication.

At TSNN, Wimberly has been tasked with positioning the online publication as the No. 1 news source in the trade industry.

“Since I joined TSNN, I have been extremely fortunate to work within a company structure that strongly supports the continued growth of TSNN,” Wimberly said. “I am thrilled to be able to lead TSNN into the future.”

In the past year and a half, she has developed several industry-leading publications, including e -newsletters such as The Industry This Week, Association Show News, MedShow Monthly, TSNN Breaking News and Asia Exhibition News. Wimberly will continue to provide content and edit for TSNN news in her existing editor-in-chief role.

These e-newsletters go out to more than 50,000 subscribers each month and quickly have become the go-to place for the latest trade show industry news.

Wimberly also oversees the many industry bloggers for the TSNN site, as well as TSNN’s Top 250 Trade Show and Top Canadian 50 lists, the 27,000 event listing database and the TSNN Event Excellence Awards, which honors the fastest-growing shows in the trade show industry.

In addition, Wimberly also tweets to TSNN’s more than 4,000 Twitter followers and connects regularly with the 4,000-plus people in TSNN’s LinkedIn group.

“I look forward to further expanding TSNN’s global reach not only by launching more e-newsletters, but also offering even more valuable data to the industry and expanding our webinar series,” Wimberly said.

During Wimberly’s four-year tenure at Tradeshow Week, she covered breaking news and wrote about a variety of topics, including labor issues, new technology, mergers, acquisitions and the trajectory of the exhibition industry. She also previously worked for Variety Magazine, The New York Times Regional Newspaper Group and CNN Business News.
