Messe Duesseldorf Launches Mettalurgy Show in Indonesia
Germany-based Messe Duesseldorf, along with PT Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI), will launch the indometal 2013, International Metal & Steel Trade Fair Feb. 20-23 at the Jakarta International Expo in Indonesia.
The event will be organized through Messe Duesseldorf’s Asia division and is designed as a platform for metal and steel businesses to tap into Indonesia’s markets.
“We are proud to announce that we are further expanding our presence in Southeast Asia, offering our customers and partners even more opportunities to widen and strengthen their presence in Indonesia and the region”, said Gernot Ringling, managing director of Messe Duesseldorf Asia.
Messe Duesseldorf also runs several other mettalurgy shows, including GIFA, METEC and Termoprocess, held every four years in Duesseldorf.
Indonesia has a population of 240 million and represents not only the largest market in Southeast Asia, but also the fastest-growing market after India and China, according to Messe Duesseldorf officials.
“We trust that these factors combined with growing domestic demand, investment in capacity addition and favorable government regulations will benefit all participants at indometal 2013,” Ringling said.
The steel industry in the ASEAN region registered a double-digit growth of 16.8 percent in 2010, mainly because of to the high growth rates in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
Indometal 2013 will address all segments involved in the metal and steel industries - from raw materials, processing and equipment to production and logistics.
There also are 11 associations that will be involved in the show’s launch, including the Federation of Indonesian Metalworks & Machinery Industries Association, the Indonesian Automotive Parts & Components Industries Association and the Indonesian Exhibition Companies Association, to name a few.
