The American Society of Association Executives held its 2013 CEO/CIO Pre-Conference Program and Technology Conference & Expo Dec. 3-5 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center drawing 1,233 total participants, the second highest attended conference in its eight-year history.

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority unveiled its second launch under a new show-ownership model in which it has an equity stake in events, with the Culinary Intelligence Summit debuting in June at the John B. Hynes Convention Center in Boston.
The Culinary Intelligence Summit will launch in conjunction with Intelligence Summits and be geared toward solutions for larger-scale food service operations working to implement and manage gluten-free/allergy meal solutions to meet consumer demand.

With 2014 being the first full year for Suntec Singapore’s $184 million renovation to be experienced by events coming into the facility, it’s off to a very good start, with a packed calendar scheduled.
The company has booked 88 key events for its 2014 lineup, including 16 major medical events, 16 trade shows, 19 consumer events and 37 international conferences and special events.

Cosmoprof Asia, a global beauty event held in November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, posted impressive numbers, with a 10-percent increase in attendance, compared with last year’s event.
The show is organized by Cosmoprof Asia Ltd, a joint venture company between UBM Asia Ltd and BolognaFiere Group.

The 10th edition of Tarsus Group’s biennial Label Expo Asia broke attendance records when it was held Dec. 3-6 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
There were 21,416 attendees, an 18.8-percent increase, compared with 18,019 who came to the 2011 show.
Attendees were from 87 countries, up 11 percent from 74 countries in 2011. Covering 8,500 square meters of net space, with just under 300 exhibitors, the show was larger by 10 percent, compared with the last edition and also experienced its highest ever onsite level of space rebooking for 2015.

Anticipating increased interest in UBM Asia’s Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo (CBME) after the Chinese government announcing it will relax the one-child policy by allowing couples to have a second baby if either is the only child in family, the show recently went to the United Kingdom to expand its customer base.

The 26th edition of Plastics & Rubber Indonesia attracted 12,228 trade visitors over four days at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran (JIExpo). The show was held from 20th to 23rd November 2013, and featured record buyer attendance from 38 countries and regions.
