Tech News: IBTM World Introduces New Toolbox of Tech Offerings for Show Participants, Swapcard Unveils Event Registration Upgrades

October 26, 2023

A leading event management platform and a global MICE conference have unveiled new upgrades and innovative solutions to improve the attendee and exhibitor experience at live business events. Take a look.

IBTM World 2023

IBTM World, a global event for the meeting, incentives, conference and events industry, is launching an innovative suite of new technology designed to elevate the attendee experience and create better business results for all participants. Taking place Nov. 28-30 at Fira de Barcelona in Barcelona, the global trade show has optimized its matchmaking platform to include a new guidance tool, WalkMe

Enhancing the platform’s ability for exhibitors to search for and request appointments with key buyers, the new tool is designed to be a how-to companion that walks exhibitors through every step of the preference selection process. In response to ever-increasing demand, visitor buyers will also have access to the matchmaking platform for the first time and will be able to schedule meetings with exhibitors before the show.

Alongside exhibitors and hosted buyers, visitor buyers will now have their diaries synced to the official IBTM World mobile app for easy schedule management. Visitor buyers must register before Oct. 31 to be eligible for access to pre-scheduled appointments.

To increase efficiency, convenience and value, the show has also launched an Exhibitor Dashboard that allows exhibitors to measure ROI at a glance. This innovative tool enables exhibitors to see how many visitors and buyers are viewing their event profile in real-time, as well as how many total leads they gathered during the show using the Emperia app.

To streamline the visitor registration process, IBTM World 2023 is also working with a new registration provider, Iceni Event Solutions, which will also launch its new automated Certification Tool that will track each individual visitor and buyer’s session attendance and issue them with a complete overview of their progress post-event.

“At IBTM World, our goal is to provide all attendees with the tools they need to build as many inspiring and profitable business connections as possible in just three days,” said Vasyl Zhygalo, portfolio director of IBTM events at RX. “The addition of such invigorating technology to this year’s show, alongside the classic tools we know our delegates value and love, only enhances this offering and enables us to provide attendees with even greater value for their time and money.”

Swapcard

Event management and revenue generation platform Swapcard recently unveiled a series of enhancements to its registration module that are designed to transform the event registration experience for event organizers and attendees, particularly at small- and medium-sized events. These upgrades include:

Unified Registration System: Swapcard’s self-serve registration allows users to build and launch custom forms with drag-and-drop functionality in minutes. To make the process even more efficient for organizers and attendees, the platform offers flexible pricing structures for different ticket types and a built-in payment collection system for paid-ticket events.

Featuring an intuitive interface, the registration setup, deployment and management process requires less set-up time and consolidates registration data in one place without adding unnecessary integrations, according to Swapcard officials.

“Our mission is to save valuable time for organizers who often manage events with limited resources,” said Swapcard CEO Baptiste Boulard. “We envision a future where registration becomes a seamless and stress-free process via our easy-to-use platform, which empowers them to focus on what truly matters: crafting memorable events.”

Customizable Experience: To ensure it aligns with every brand’s image, Swapcard’s registration module is fully customizable, allowing organizers to showcase unique event identities and brands without support and setup fees.

Additionally, Swapcard can tailor the entire system to the needs of each event’s audience, ensuring a quick and streamlined registration experience from start to finish, including the option to embed the form directly on their website.

During the event, attendees, exhibitors and sponsors can continue to enjoy custom experiences via a personalized hub featuring AI-driven suggestions for sessions, networking and lead generation, seamlessly integrated through the event app.

Efficient Check-In Onsite: To ensure a hassle-free onsite experience, organizers can now streamline the check-in process by allowing badge scans from the mobile app and print-at-home badges for every attendee.

“We’ve seen event registration drop-off rates skyrocket,” said Godefroy des Francs, chief product officer of Swapcard. “Our goal is to streamline the process for both organizers and attendees, ensuring a smoother registration journey. This marks the shift from cumbersome legacy systems to a new era of attendee-focused event registration, and Swapcard is proud to lead the way.”
