Reed Exhibitions Korea Appoints Country General Manager

Reed Exhibitions recently named JB Son Country as general manager of its South Korea operations. Son is based in the Reed Seoul office and reports to the president of Reed Exhibitions Greater China.

Son holds a Bachelor of Communications degree from Busan National University, as well as an MBA from Seoul National University, Korea. 

He brings with him nearly two decades of high-level experience in Korea’s pharmaceutical industry at MSD and Novartis.  Most recently he was head of commercial in Asia-Pacific for Novartis Vaccines’ Korea cluster, which includes Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.

Reed already has joined with COEX, a leading exhibition venue in Korea, to organize International Franchise Seoul, Korea’s largest franchise trade show. 

Reed also has worked with K.Fairs, an established and highly regarded trade fair organizer in Korea, since joining forces in 2014 to organize Kormarine, Korea’s largest international maritime industry event.

Most recently, Reed has acquired four events from K.Fairs, namely Electronics Manufacturing Korea and three Home Table Deco Fair events across multiple cities in Korea. Rapid expansion, characterized by further acquisitions and new launches Korea, will continue to be pursued in the near term.
