ITE Group Acquires Baird Maritime's Exhibition Portfolio, Launches TransAsia

March 11, 2013

ITE Group has acquired Australian-based Baird Maritime's exhibition business and also will launch a new event - TransAsia - a trade exhibition for transport and logistics in Southeast Asia.

Baird Maritime's events include Asian Workboat and China Maritime, which are hosted in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Baird Maritime, led by industry veteran Neil Baird, connects the community of work boat owners in Asia, the Middle East and Australia.

Baird will stay involved in the business for two years, while ITE will move the operational management of these events to its offices in Hong Kong, according to ITE Group officials.

“The acquisition of Baird Maritime's event business comes quickly after our acquisition of Tradelink in Malaysia,” said ITE's CEO Russell Taylor.

He added, “It underlines our serious commitment to the Southeast Asian region and fits well into our transport and logistics sector business. We're looking forward to our continued working relationship with Neil Baird and hope to build upon the undeniable success of these exhibitions."

ITE also launched its transport event brand in Singapore. TransAsia will be a marketplace for transport services for professionals from across the ASEAN countries, according to organizers.

The TransAsia exhibition will demonstrate the full range of industry solutions - from transport and forwarding services to software and equipment for cargo handling.

ITE Group sees potential in the region, with growth of 5-percent GDP across the major Asian economies predicted, as well as international and inter-regional trade seeing increases during the next 25 years.

TransAsia will take place at the Suntec Centre in Singapore in November 2014.
