In May, attendees to the International Association of Exhibitions and Events’ first education collective will have the opportunity to take part in not just one, or two, but four face-to-face opportunities tailored to meet their specific needs.

The opportunities include the CEM Learning Program, which is devoted to certification; the Marketing Academy, which concentrates on increasing event attendance; the Sales Academy, which focuses on selling to exhibitors; and the launch of IAEE’s Women’s Leadership Forum, which centers on women’s issues in the exhibitions and events industry.

He added. “There is no question that the ROI attendees will experience will allow them to create their strategies to achieve their goals in 2013 and beyond.”

The event will be held May 29-30 in Washington, D.C.

The Women’s Leadership Forum targets female professionals in the exhibitions and events industry with a day-long workshop focused on topics ranging from career development, communication, negotiation and balancing your work and life as a female, wife and mother.

Attendees will hear from industry leaders and network with their peers to learn and share best practices.

"I am so pleased to be a part of the development and launch of the new IAEE Women’s Leadership Forum,” said Stephanie Everett, chairperson for the IAEE Women’s Forum Task Force.

She added, “The Forum is the ideal platform for women of all levels within the exhibition and events industry to come together to share experiences, learn, network and strategize about leadership development and their careers."

One of the speakers includes Hattie Hill, CEO for Hattie Hill Enterprises, Inc., and has more than 30 years’ experience as a businesswoman, professional speaker and international management consultant.

Her expertise in Global Leadership, Customer Service, Diversity and Inclusion has been shared with audiences throughout North America and 51 countries around the world.

Other speakers include Christine Duffy, president and CEO, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA); Mary Dolaher, CEO, IDG World Expo; and Betsy Myers, founding director, Center for Women & Business at Bentley University.

People looking to take CEM classes will have the opportunity as well during the collective, with sessions being offered on event marketing, exhibitions and events sales fundamentals, finance, budget and contracts and selecting service contractors.

In addition, there will be two-day Sales and Marketing Academies, both of which will give attendees the opportunity to dive deeper into both of those areas with high-level educational sessions.
