HOTELEX Shanghai Attracts More Than 126,000 Visitors

The 25th Shanghai International Hospitality Equipment & Supply Expo (HOTELEX Shanghai 2016) ran from 29th March to 1st April at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). UBM reports that the four-day show attracted more than 126,000 professional visitors from 116 countries and regions which is an increase of 30% compared with the previous edition.

Organised by the China Tourist Hotels Association, China Cuisine Association and Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co Ltd, a UBM Asia company, HOTELEX Shanghai 2016 covered 15 major sectors. This year’s show filled an exhibition area of 280,000 m2, with 2,500 leading industrial brands and representative enterprises from over 50 countries, including Italy, Spain, USA, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

According to the organisers, next year’s HOTELEX will divided into two editions: “HOTELEX I” will be held from 28th to 31st March 2017 at SNIEC, focusing on the catering equipment, tableware, hotel amenities and textile, fitness and leisure, appliances and security, food and beverage, coffee and tea, bakery and ice cream, wine and spirits. HOTELEX PLUS-Total Solution for Commercial Properties will be held from 26th to 28th March. The two editions will cover a total of 400,000 m2 of exhibition space and feature more than 4,000 exhibitors as well as more than 200,000 buyers.

The projects will debut in 2023 and beyond. JW Marriott This new, 15-story, 283-room hotel will open in the heart of the city’s downtown Arts District this year. The property features a 25,000-square-foot grand ballroom, as well as a spa, restaurant, lobby bar, fitness center, and a rooftop pool deck and bar. InterContinental Dallas  Located in Cityplace Tower in Uptown, InterContinental Dallas will feature sweeping panoramic views of the Dallas skyline. Guests will enjoy spacious, high-end rooms and amenities, including more than 21,000 square feet of event space.   Hotel Swexan Hotel Swexan, a new, 22-story luxury property, is rising in Uptown’s Harwood District and will make its mark on the Dallas skyline. Opening this year, it is a sculptural building with cantilevered upper floors, as well as a 75-foot rooftop infinity-edge swimming pool and a hidden underground lounge.
