BNP Media to Launch AEC BuildTech Conference & Expo

May 24, 2018

BNP Media’s Architecture, Engineering and Construction Publishing Group is gearing up to launch AEC BuildTech Conference & Expo, an interactive conference and exhibition designed for architects, engineers and contractors to learn and leverage new building processes, materials and emerging construction technologies.

Set for April 30-May 2 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, AEC BuildTech will include an expo floor featuring exhibitors showcasing the products and services needed for the latest trends in building, as well as expert speakers and in-depth, interactive educational sessions across five separate tracks focused on plumbing, HVAC/mechanical systems, flooring, building envelope and roofing for continuing education credits.

“Only BNP Media, with its diverse reach and depth in the B2B AEC and Mechanical Systems markets, is able to produce an event this comprehensive, while leveraging the company’s industry-leading brands to bring decision-makers together and share information and new ideas,” said Tagg Henderson, co-CEO of BNP Media.

He continued, “Editors from our wide-ranging list of publications focused on Architecture, Engineering, and Construction are already working on the content for a dynamic education program focused on building, roofing, flooring, plumbing and mechanical systems/HVAC.”

BNP Media brands slated to work on the launch of AEC BuildTech include Engineering News-Record; Architectural Record; SNAP; The NEWS; Roofing Contractor; Plumbing & Mechanical; PM Engineer; Floor Trends; Floor Covering Installer; Building Enclosure; Stone World; Engineered Systems; Walls & Ceilings; Snips; Contemporary Stone & Tile Design; TILE; Restoration & Remediation; Reeves Journal; POB; National Driller and Supply House Times.

But with all the building and construction trade shows already out in the marketplace, is there really a need for another event in the AEC space?

According to Scott Wolters, BNP Media director of tradeshows and conferences, following extensive attendee research, the company concluded that a show focused exclusively on new building technologies and processes would not only be welcomed but also serve an unmet need in the industry.

“Honestly, we were skeptical that there could be interest and support among attendees and sponsors, so that’s why we conducted several rounds of research over the course of 12 months among AEC professionals and AEC suppliers,” Wolters explained.

He continued, “Point of fact, 66 percent of prospective attendees surveyed across BNP Media’s AEC and Mechanical Systems brands that included architects, engineers, general contractors, special contractors and building owners stated they would attend a show like BuildTech.”
