Attracting dental professionals from all over the Northeastern portion of the United States, the Yankee Dental Congress drew more than 28,000 attendees when it was held in early February at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
The event’s theme was “Building Bridges and it is the fifth largest dental meeting in the country, which is sponsored by the Massachusetts Dental Society, in cooperation with the Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont dental associations.

Reed Exhibitions China, along with its sister company Reed MIDEM, will launch MIPIM China, which will be a dedicated exhibition, conference and networking event for real estate professionals who are specifically interested in the Chinese market.
The existing MIPIM Asia, scheduled Nov. 5-6 at the Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong, will focus on a high-level conference program, as opposed to exhibition, as well as premium networking opportunities and the MIPIM Asia Awards.

The place to be to learn everything there is to know about Chinese medicine is the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in August to take part in the International Conference & Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products (ICMCM).

Trade show organiser, Messe München International (MMI) announced the acquisition of an event for the ceramics industry in India, Indian Ceramics. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Indian Ceramics was launched in 2005 by British trade fair organiser and specialty publisher, Bowhead Media. The transaction will be completed during the 2013 edition of Indian Ceramics and MMI will take-over organising the show beginning with the 2014 edition.

NASDAQ-listed Global Sources released its year-end 2012 results. Revenues in the year were US$232 million, up 3.0% over the previous year. Net profits in 2012 were US$32 million, a year-on-year increase of 9.3%. Diluted earnings per share in 2012 were US$0.90.
More than half of Global Sources’ revenues were generated from its online services (US$119 million) – roughly flat compared with 2011. In a bid to attract more international conferences, the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) will launch a mobile application to serve conferences with more than 500 international participants. The mobile app comprises of two components: a conference application and a conference delegation welcome kit.

Taiwan will see the launch of a new green trade show during next year’s event calendar. The Eco-Products International Fair will be jointly organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO). The annual event is scheduled to run from 13th to 15th March 2014.

5Net4 Prductions’ Abilities Expo saw a 27-percent spike in attendance at its March 15-17 show held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, compared with the previous year’s show.
The show drew 7,323 attendees by its final day, with a total of 9,100 altogether, counting an approximate 25 percent who were non-registered children under the age of 18. The total attendance broke last year’s record.
