  Fifty-plus of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s (the Centre) team members dressed in purple, white and green (2019 IWD colours) and enjoyed a walk around the lush 50-acre Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) park to mark the recent International Women’s Day (IWD). The stroll was followed by a casual high tea for team members to mingle, bond and celebrate the occasion. According to Singapore Tourism Board (STB), tourism receipts from the business travel and MICE sector generated S$3.4 billion (US$2.5 billion) in the first nine months of 2018, which represents growth of 10% year-on-year. Visitor arrivals in the same period increased 14%, reaching two million. Singapore will host a number of sizeable business events in 2019 and beyond. Some of the events secured were new to Singapore. Recently, the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) released its annual report for 2018. In total, the bureau supported 300 events during the year, generating an estimated economic impact of RM2.47 billion (US$595 million) for Malaysia. A total of 350,000 delegates attended these events, including 163,000 international delegates. A total of 195 corporate & incentive events were held in 2018, while the bureau supported 84 association events and 21 exhibitions. The inaugural edition of SIGN China – Shenzhen, LED CHINA – Shenzhen and Digital Signage – Shenzhen concluded last month, held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center (SZCEC). The co-located events featured over 550 brands. Organised by UBM Trust, the co-located shows ran from 21st to 23rd February 2019. Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF), Malaysia’s largest furniture fair, celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. Some 600 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions attended the exhibition this year.   Running from 8th to 11th March, MIFF was held at two separate venues in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).
