U.K.- based Clarion Events, which was just acquired by Blackstone, and AC Business Media both recently made strategic acquisitions to add to their growing portfolios.

Clarion, the parent company of iGB Affiliate, acquired the Affiliate Summit Corporation, which includes the Affiliate Summit tradeshow and conference series, FeedFront Magazine, GeekCast.fm, ReveNews.com, and the annual AffStat industry benchmark reports.

Affiliate Summit Co-Founders, Missy Ward and Shawn Collins will continue running Affiliate Summit in the capacity of Co-CEOs.

UFI’s Global Barometer Indicates Positive Trade Show Industry Growth

In the recently released Global Barometer survey conducted by UFI - The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, the majority of trade show companies worldwide are showing growth, although geopolitical issues have had in impact in some regions.

The survey also indicated that trade show organizers are more concerned about the state of the national and regional economies, as well as competition from within the industry, rather than expanding their businesses globally.

Having spent a couple of decades building and refining public relations content and targeting platforms for the event space, I’ve identified what successful exhibitors consistently do well. 

While there are many reasons to participate at events, two bubble to the top: build relationships and share content. When the right content and communications plan converge for your event, you build stronger relationships from events and deliver superior ROC (Return on Content).

Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association Awards Inaugural Scholarship Recipients

The Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association (HCEA) has named Leanne Dagavarian, with MilliporeSigma, and Melissa Matarrese, with the American College of Surgeons, as the recipients of the inaugural HCEAConnect Scholarship, sponsored by GES. 

The HCEAConnect Scholarship provides two registration scholarships to attend HCEAConnect, taking place Aug. 13-16 in Chicago. 

Dagavarian and Matarrese were selected from a competitive selection of applicants and will be recapping their experience in a future issue of HCEA News, HCEA’s e-newsletter.
