As we enter Q2, Reed Exhibitions Greater China is preparing to produce its largest ever sequence of events - 70 scheduled shows, covering 12 specialized and fast-growing industries between February and December.

As part of RELX Group, Reed Exhibitions' full year results for 2016 were recently announced showing both underlying revenue and profit growth. Reed Exhibitions continued to pursue growth opportunities in 2016, launching 32 new events and completing seven small acquisitions.

Amid China's transitioning economy, Reed Exhibitions Greater China continues to move forward by driving new business via a renewed focus on launches and adjacency launches and further development of Reed Exhibitions Korea.

The company has taken steps to drive innovation, while boosting sales and marketing effectiveness, implementation of rigorous business matchmaking, and investment in a variety of company-wide talent development programs.

"Akin to our global counterparts, we must always keep customer value a top priority," said Hu Wei, president of Reed Exhibitions Greater China. "This includes an unwavering commitment to building new relationships while strengthening existing ties that have made Reed Exhibitions a powerful force in the industry. As we build upon our growth, we can achieve this by focusing on our mission to 'deliver contacts, content and communities' via our talented and engaged workforce -- currently over 600 strong, together with Reed Exhibitions' international marketing resources and local knowledge of the industries and communities in which we are based."

Reed Exhibitions Greater China's portfolio includes some of the region's most renowned events, attracting both a local and global audience.

·        Serving as a leader in healthcare events, one of China's fastest growing industries, Reed Exhibitions' top brands include mega event The Health Industry Summit (tHIS), which now stands as the world's largest healthcare industry event. It is held annually at the National Exhibition and Conference Center, the world's largest single block exhibition complex spanning 330,000 sqm.

·        China's massive increase in internal consumption has also led to an explosion of growth in the packaging industry. SinoCorrugated, the world's largest corrugated exhibition, held together with SinoFoldingCarton and China Packaging Container Expo, form an all in one mega expo that connects the entire industry chain of the corrugated, folding carton and packaging container sector.

·        China's thriving electronics industry has led to Reed Exhibitions' expanding role in the field with nine electronics manufacturing & assembly events to date. Biggest names include NEPCON China, one of Asia's largest and longest-standing procurement, learning and communication platforms for SMT, electronics manufacturing automation equipment and technologies; and The China International Touchscreen Exhibition (C-TOUCH), recently rebranded C-TOUCH & DISPLAY, one of the largest and most influential professional exhibitions in the global touchscreen industry.

·        Reed Exhibitions also leads the market in the gift and homeware segments, with a total of nine events held throughout China including the now bi-annual Spring and Autumn Gifts & Home Shenzhen Expo (China's largest gift exhibition) and China Daily Use Articles Trade fair (CDATF) the longest standing household article event in China.
