Cathy Griffith Named Nielsen Expositions Operation Director

June 11, 2013

Cathy Griffith has been promoted to operations director for Nielsen Expositions, replacing Cindy Sample, who now runs the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show.

Griffith also will oversee the production of the ASD events, a general merchandise show with more than 2,800 exhibitors held biannually in Las Vegas, as well as spearheading several centralized services for Nielsen Expositions, according to company officials.

"Nielsen Expositions strives to exceed our customer's expectations and with Cathy's strong industry connections and leadership skills she will ensure that we continue to produce some of the best events in the industry," said Lori Jenks, vice president, Operations of Nielsen Expositions.

In addition to producing the ASD events, Griffith, who has 25 years of experience in the events industry, will be responsible for implementing innovative technologies through registration and simplified operational processes that will enhance the attendee experience.

“I am thrilled to be presented with the opportunity to be involved in services that reach across all Nielsen Expositions events, as well as working directly on the ASD portfolio of shows,” Griffith said.

Griffith and her team - Alicia Parsons, Karen Stewart and Deb Webb - are certified Six Sigma Green Belts and will collectively oversee operations for 100 Nielsen events.

Griffith will be based out of the Nielsen Expositions' San Juan Capistrano office in Southern California.
