THAIFEX-World of Food Asia Posts Record Number of Visitors

June 17, 2018

The 15th edition of THAIFEX-World of Food Asia concluded earlier this month, attracting a record of over 62,000 trade visitors, an increase of nearly 13% compared with the previous edition in 2017.

Running Nay 29 to June 2, at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, the five-day show occupied an exhibition area of 107,000 m2, featuring 2,537 exhibitors, a 17% increase year-on-year. Of the visitors, a total of 13,110 were international trade visitors from over 150 countries, representing a year-on-year growth of 9.4%.

Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director, Koelnmesse, was quoted, “The potential of ASEAN is tremendous. We’ve been recording strong double digit growth since 2014, in conjunction with the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community. In fact, we have been adding an average of 10,000 m2 to the show every year since then, and we’ve even carved out an additional two trade days this year to better facilitate business exchange. This year’s record-breaking figures are a testament to the attractiveness of the ASEAN F&B market, and we’d like to give our heartfelt gratitude to all exhibitors, buyers, and visitors for their constant support.”

The next edition of THAIFEX-World of Food Asia will return to IMPACT running from 28th May to 1st June 2019. The event will introduce products that are free from allergens, such as non-GMO, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and sugar-free.
