PREMIUM GROUP to Acquire Minority Stake In Liberty Fairs Fashion Group

September 24, 2018

Berlin-based PREMIUM GROUP, organizer of European fashion trade shows including PREMIUM, SEEK, SHOW&ORDER X PREMIUM, BRIGHT and the FASHIONTECH conference, has announced plans to purchase a minority share in Liberty Fairs Fashion Group.

Based in the U.S., Liberty Fairs produces men’s and women’s contemporary trade shows including the Liberty, Cabana and Capsule shows, which take place annually in New York City, Las Vegas and Miami Beach.

“We are tremendously excited about the prospect of working with the incredible Liberty team,” said Anita Tillmann, founder and managing partner of the PREMIUM GROUP, which was acquired by Clarion Events in 2017.

She continued, “The global fashion industry is highly dynamic and constantly changing and evolving. There is a huge opportunity to provide state-of-the-art events focused on commerce, community and relevant content in order to better serve the changing needs of brands and retailers.”

The combination of the PREMIUM GROUP’s strong relationships and long history of cutting-edge events, as well as Liberty Fairs’ network and expertise, makes this an ideal partnership, Tillmann added.

With five fashion events in Berlin presenting around 3,000 international collections over an area of more than 500,000 square feet, the PREMIUM GROUP has helped transform Berlin into the top marketplace for contemporary fashion and innovation in Europe, according to PREMIUM officials.

For Liberty Fairs, which acquired Capsule in April of this year, the alignment with PREMIUM GROUP marks an ongoing expansion and diversification designed to amplify its exposure in the women’s market, according to company officials.

“We have always admired the PREMIUM GROUP and the Liberty family has a long-standing friendship with Anita and her team,” explained Sam Ben-Avraham, founder of Liberty Fairs Fashion Group.

He continued, “It makes all the sense in the world for us to work together as our respective shows explore expansion possibilities at an international level. This deal gives us the opportunity to officially join forces as PREMIUM GROUP explores the trade show market in the U.S., and as we evaluate different options in taking Liberty, Capsule and Cabana to Europe.”
