December 19, 2016

The 22nd edition of the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (CIBS 2017) will make its debut at its new location, the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, April 26-29, which promises to be its biggest exhibition yet.

The longest-running and most comprehensive boating event in China, CIBS has firmly established itself as the leading platform for the regional leisure maritime industry with over 40,000 marine industry leaders and enthusiasts from over 50 countries set to attend the event.

The new venue will provide easy access for the increasing number of international visitors, with strong transport links from both airports and the railway station as well as more exhibiting space offering a larger showcase from luxury yachts to high-end lifestyle products.

New to CIBS 2017 will be the first business matchmaking service where buyers will be able to meet with suppliers onsite through a pre-scheduled appointment system helping to explore new business opportunities and new markets.

Another exciting addition will be the launch of the "Superyacht Showcase" featuring new designs and innovative technology from the finest superyacht manufacturers. CIBS 2017 will also see the return of a strong educational programme with sessions led by leading industry experts covering the most compelling trends, insights and developments that are shaping the maritime industry.

"No other event on the boating calendar in the region offers such unparalleled business-to-business opportunities," said Eunice Weng, Deputy General Manager, Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo Ltd.

He added, "The show already welcomes senior-level buyers with high spending power in a highly focused business environment. Our business matchmaking programme, plentiful networking events and our move to a bigger and easily-accessible venue reasserts our commitment to our exhibitors and our buyers to ensure they receive the maximum ROI."

CIBS will be held alongside Hotel Plus, a mega show which will be inaugurated next year and covers 17 events providing complete solutions for hotels and commercial properties. CIBS will be open to the public April 29.
