The Appointment Group Expands Its Singapore Operation with the Appointment of Brandon Chan as General Manager

March 8, 2016

The Appointment Group (TAG), an independent travel management company, has appointed Brandon Chan as the general manager of its Singapore office.

Chan joins TAG Singapore after a long career in the hospitality, travel and events industry under a number of leadership positions, including director of sales and marketing at Design hotels for the Asia Pacific region and a stint at Rosenbluth International, a privately owned independent travel company.

In his new role, spearheading the Singapore operation, Chan will be supported by Jodie Hobday, who takes on the position of operations manager of the Singapore office after relocating from our Sydney operation where she held the same position.

The third Asia Pacific office has, since its inception, allowed the company to build on existing momentum in the region.

TAG looks to capitalize on opportunities for growth in the Asian market and demonstrate its strategic focus of expanding its international network of travel and event experts and coordinated systems providing clients with world-class travel and events globally.

As general manager, Chan will focus on the full operational set up of the office to ensure each division is operating for our client base and, in time, enlarging TAG’s footprint in the region.

Along with establishing TAG’s brand presence, it is the company’s aim to position the company as an independent purveyor of bespoke travel and event services in the Asia Pacific market who tailor to the specific needs of its discerning clientele.

Shane Barr, managing director – TAG Asia-Pacific, said, “As our presence in this region continues to significantly grow, the expansion of our Singapore office is a calculated decision for TAG to solidify its position in the growing Asian business travel and event community. The General Manager’s position was no easy task to fill - Brandon was selected as he provides an eclectic mix of local cultural knowledge, wide industry connections and a stellar reputation in the hospitality, events and travel industry in the Asia-Pacific marketplace. It’s an exciting time for him to join the organisation as our global business is growing and evolving so rapidly – in film and media, sports, events, music touring and corporate travel sectors. Brandon’s strategic vision and in-depth knowledge of this marketplace will certainly enable us to become an integral part of the Asian travel and events industry for a long time to come.”
