AIMEX Switches Format to Run Every Two Years
The Asia Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX), organised by Reed Exhibitions Australia, announced a change in frequency of the show. AIMEX will be held every two years instead of four starting from 2013 in response to the support and feedback from the show’s exhibitors and visitors.
AIMEX was first launched in the 1970s, and is reportedly the largest mining trade show in the Asia-Pacific region. The previous edition was held at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park in September 2011, with a record attendance of 17,382 visitors and 638 exhibitors over four days.
Paul Baker, exhibition director of Reed Mining Events, said, “According to suppliers and senior managers in Australia’s mining industry, there are compelling reasons for this industry-leading exhibition to be held on a two-year cycle. These include the current high levels of growth in the mining industry – with the need for mining companies to keep fully up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in equipment.”
The next edition of AIMEX will take place Aug. 20-23, 2012, at the Sydney Showground.
