NTP Events, Ungerboeck, Smart City and More Secure New Business, Extend Partnerships

September 27, 2019

While things are starting to cool off in some areas of North America, that doesn’t seem to be the case with the trade show industry. This fall is a busy one — check out all these trade show and event service providers forging new deals and renewing existing partnerships.

NTP Events

The Air Force Association has extended its contract with NTP Events through 2021. Under the terms of the deal, NTP will manage booth sales, exhibitor marketing and exhibitor operations for the association’s Air, Space & Cyber Conference, known as a leading event for defense and aerospace professionals.

“We’re proud of the growth that AFA has seen over the past few years and are excited to continue our partnership and grow the Air, Space & Cyber Conference even more in these next few years,” said Christopher Harar, president of NTP Events.

Ungerboeck

The U.K.-based Farnborough International Airshow, one of the largest global trade shows for the international aerospace industry, has tapped Ungerboeck to manage the biennial event.

The Airshow’s event team will leverage Ungerboeck’s digital exhibition technology to streamline processes in sales and acquisition and exhibitor and show management, as well as invoicing and payment, according to Ungerboeck officials.

“With Farnborough International Airshow representing one of the most important trade shows worldwide, it is an honor for Ungerboeck to equip the team with the latest exhibition technology,” said Manish Chandak, president and CEO of Ungerboeck. “With the new exhibitor portal and floor planning, Farnborough will have a full suite of tools to redefine [FIA’s] exhibition management process, and deliver a superb experience for visitors and exhibitors alike.”

Smart City Networks

Event technology and telecommunications provider Smart City Networks has signed a five-year contract with the City of Sacramento for services at the newly named SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center. As part of the contract, Smart City will provide a new Wi-Fi network at the facilities, which are currently undergoing a $340 million expansion. The new network will support 10-Gig speeds and up to 64,000 concurrent devices, according to Smart City officials.

“We are excited to partner with Smart City during the expansion process to deploy a new network with the upgraded facilities,” said Matthew Voreyer, general manager of the SAFE Credit Union Convention and Performing Arts District. “Smart City brings with them the experience required to prepare the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center and Memorial Auditorium for the technology needs of the future.”

GES Canada

Last month, Metro Toronto Convention Centre tapped full-service events provider GES Canada as its official customs and transportation services provider. In this role, GES is working closely with MTCC to facilitate customs clearance and transportation for conventions, congresses, trade and consumer shows, and corporate events.

“GES’ on-site customs and logistics office and our team of experts deliver specialized assistance and consultation to clients and our partners at the MTCC,” said Patrick Lukan, senior vice president and general manager of GES Canada. “This provides show managers and exhibitors with a worry-free and seamless customs and logistic experience.”

Also serving as the MTCC’s official general services provider, GES partners with North American Logistics Services to provide customs brokerage services.

Edmonton EXPO

GES Canada also recently signed an extension agreement with Edmonton EXPO Centre to be its official general services provider for another three years.

“After we conducted a detailed review of potential general services providers in the market, it became clear to us that we already have the best solution in place,” said Arlindo Gomes, vice president of venue management for EEDC. “GES has proven [its] commitment to the service and support of the Edmonton EXPO Centre and our mutual clients, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.”

GES Canada has served as EEC’s general service contractor for exhibitions, conventions, trade shows, corporate events, sales meetings and special events since 2000. The new three-year agreement builds on the twp organizations’ long and successful partnership.

CDS will provide registration, lead management, integrations, contact center and session tracking for The Car Wash Show, the largest gathering of owners, managers and decision-makers from the car wash, quick lube and detailing segments.

ICW

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers extended its partnership with CDS for two years through 2021. CDS will provide full-service registration, integrations and lead management for the association’s AIChE Annual Meeting and the AIChE Spring Meeting.

“I am looking forward to working with the registration managers, on-site managers and support staff at CDS in 2019 and 2020,” said Tina Murray, AIChE customer service manager, who’s managed the registration desk and process for AIChE’s Spring and Annual Meetings and worked with CDS since early 2015. “[CDS’] attention to detail, support, professionalism and cooperation prior to, during and post-conference registration makes the on-site registration process a pleasurable experience for all of our conference attendees.”

CDS will provide full-serve registration for AARC’s annual Congress networking and educational event for five years through 2025, as well as lead retrieval, session tracking and integrations, and self-serve registration for additional conferences.

CompuSystems

Registration, data management, data analytics and lead retrieval services provider CompuSystems has renewed its contract with the Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association to provide registration, analytics and lead management services for HPBExpo through 2022.

“We are excited to continue our relationship with HPBA, which dates back to 2005,” said Chris Williams, president of CompuSystems. “Renewals like these are a testament to the CompuSystems team’s dedication to offering innovative products and best-in-class service to the success of each show.”
