Medical Fair India Returns to New Delhi in 2017

April 26, 2016

MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2016, India's No. 1 Trade Fair for Hospitals, Health Centers and Clinics, will return to the Pragati Maidan exhibition center April 6-8 in New Delhi.

Held every year alternately in New Delhi or Mumbai, the event presents the latest developments specifically geared towards the Indian medical sector, ranging from medical, diagnostics, laboratory and rehabilitation equipment to hospital/clinic furnishings and products as well as communication/information technology.

Organized by Messe Düsseldorf India Pvt. Ltd., the subsidiary of Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, MEDICAL FAIR INDIA 2017 has the support of the company’s worldwide network of representatives and MEDICA – the leading international trade fair for the medical industry held annually in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Healthcare in India is in a state of transition: increased income for the middle classes, health consciousness among the majority of the classes, price liberalizations, reduction in bureaucracy and the introduction of private healthcare financing.

India is one of the most promising growth markets for medical technology in the world. The backlog demand is huge and exceeds investments. While public money is being invested predominantly in basic medical services, private hospitals and laboratories are the driving force behind modernizing the sector.

They are investing in high-end technology to satisfy the rising demand. Economic studies predict an increase in the overall healthcare market to US$ 280 billion by 2020. The Indian market's high dependency on imports (over 80 percent) offers excellent supply opportunities for foreign manufacturers.

The last staging of MEDICAL FAIR INDIA in March 2016 in Mumbai recorded a visitor increase of 34 percent (10,700 attendees) and attracted 512 exhibitors from 16 countries on about 64,500 square feet of exhibit space.

A total of 298 exhibitors were from countries other than India, underscoring the international importance of the event. In addition to India, the largest exhibitor nations were China, Malaysia and Taiwan. Companies from Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Korea, Turkey, the UAE and the U.S. also showcased their innovations.
