Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board Launches Meet L.A. App

January 19, 2017

The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board has launched Meet L.A., a free mobile destination app for meeting and trade show professionals interested in bringing their events to the City of Angels.

Following the launch of L.A. Tourism’s immersive “Virtual Discovery L.A.” last October at IMEX America in Las Vegas, the new Meet L.A. app allows users to quickly and easily view the virtual travel platform, browse through L.A.’s diverse regions and neighborhoods, and contact L.A. Tourism sales staff with any questions or booking requests.

Developed in partnership with mobiManage and launched earlier this month at the PCMA 2017 Convening Leaders conference in Austin, Texas, the intuitive, easy-to-use app also provides up-to-date information about venue capacities with square footages, access to insightful videos and a calendar of major citywide special events.

“We’ve taken detailed measures to elevate the destination’s meeting planning process with an easy-to-use experience that requires minimal storage space on any mobile device,” said Darren K. Green, senior vice president of sales for L.A. Tourism.

He continued, “Meeting and event professionals can activate the Meet L.A. app to conveniently access our dynamic content and explore the wealth of L.A.’s premier venues and attractions from the palm of their hand, anywhere and anytime.”

With the app’s comprehensive functionality, cutting-edge design and plethora of compelling content to help organizers make informed planning decisions on-the-go, what better place to unveil Meet L.A. than at Convening Leaders and its dynamic community of forward-thinking event professionals?

“The feedback we received about our Meet L.A. app has truly been phenomenal,” Green said. “As one of the first DMOs to offer this complimentary tool, planners were raving about its detailed features and advantages it offers, such as its multimedia.”

He added, “We know that more than two-thirds of people own a smartphone and we’ve heightened the app’s multimedia features to make it as comprehensive as possible to ensure maximum engagement. Whether it’s our immersive 360-degree virtual tours to insightful videos that showcase L.A.’s distinct neighborhoods and hotels, planners can quickly learn about Los Angeles as a meetings destination from the palm of their hand.”

The Meet L.A. app can be downloaded for free on iTunes and the Google Play Store.
