Growing Chinese Medical Device Industry Confirmed by Successful China Med 2012
China Med 2012, 24th International Medical Instruments and Equipment Exhibition, was a mirror for the rapid growth of the Chinese medical device industry, with 515 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions displaying their latest technologies on more than 322,900 square feet of exhibit space.
The show attracted a total of 44,474 visits, including 3,318 visits to the high-level forums and workshops, during the three-day event.
China Med 2012 was jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf China, the China World Trade Center Co. Ltd., the China Hui Tong Corporationand the MedicalDepartment of the General Logistics Department of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
Exhibitors represented countries such as China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland and the Unites States and special highlights were the German, Japan and U.S. Pavilions, as well as the Italy and Switzerland Brands Delegations, according to show organizers.
The majority of the visitors came from hospitals, clinics and medical research institutes, as well as from government departments and medical universities or were medical equipment manufacturers, domestic distributors, agents, wholesalers, retailers and importers/exporters.
According to a survey conducted by show management, 83.8 percent of the exhibitors said they were pleased with their participation in China Med 2012, while 84.5 percent of the visitors also gave the event high marks.
Most of the visitors were company purchasing supervisors (32.8 percent), technicians (15.2 percent) and company administrators (13.8 percent).
The large number and high quality of the visitors again proofed China Med’s leading position among the medical instrument trade fairs in Asia.
China Med 2012 featured nine conferences on topics such as orthopedics, ultrasound, radiotherapy, radiographic imaging, nuclear medicine and critical care medicine, as well as laboratory, medical engineering and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
In addition, the China Medical Association and the Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering hosted several seminars.
In addition, China Med cooperated with the Medical Journal of the Chinese People's Liberation Army for the first time to organize an academic conference.
The next China Med will be held March 28-30 in Beijing.
