EastVirtual Event Workshop to Deliver Specialized Training to Associations and Forprofit Organizers

March 1, 2012

A lot has changed during the past three years. Virtual Events, hybrid extensions of live events and perpetual (year-round) environments are becoming more mainstream. The platforms also have evolved - costs are coming down and the solutions are more flexible.

These developments come at a time when associations in particular are revising their business models and looking for alternative content and education delivery systems. Forprofit groups are seeking ways to enhance and grow their live events.

Even with all of the recent discussion and activity around virtual events, some individuals remain underserved: the meeting planners, content developers, education directors, sales and marketing personnel and IT staff within associations and forprofit event organizations, who will be tasked with putting the resources into place to launch virtual events.

The EastVirtual Event Workshop, March 21, 2012 at the ASAE Conference Center in Washington, DC, will bring together virtual event practitioners from the association, agency and for-profit arenas to deliver the nuts and bolts of developing a virtual event strategy and executing an event.

“EastVirtual is different from other programs that are only discussions on the subject, an introduction to the concept or a case study of successful events in the corporate space,” said Warwick Davies, co-producer of EastVirtual.

He added, “This workshop is designed around the needs of associations and for-profit, b-to-b event organizers.”

The one-day workshop will break down the virtual event planning process into five specific areas: strategy, content, marketing, team formation and platform selection. Plus, attendees will receive a printed workbook full of checklists, resources and information to help them develop a project plan when they leave the workshop.

EastVirtual faculty includes some of the leading voices on virtual events:
