Description

The International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) is ASME's largest research and development conference focused primarily on mechanical engineering, but encompasses perspectives from many engineering disciplines. IMECE is THE place for you to present your technical research and expertise, while also learning from and connecting with thousands of your peer researchers on a global level.

The Virtual IMECE Technical Conference will feature robust conversations on technical content with all participants. Technical sessions are planned to consist of pre-recorded talks with live Q&A and discussion. Posters will allow for short introduction videos and Q&A. Additionally, there will be a variety of special technical events including live panels, roundtables, and special talks.

At IMECE you’ll experience stimulating innovation from basic discovery to translational application of new approaches and foster collaborations that engage stakeholders and partners not only from academia, but also from national laboratories, industry and government funding bodies. No other conference will provide you with more broad, but salient perspectives and knowledge-sharing on technical advances within mechanical engineering, than IMECE.

More Networking and Enhanced Q&A

ASME's IMECE 2021 Virtual Conference is working on improving networking capabilities and creating more opportunities to connect with your community. We've listened to your feedback and are considering several adding new features to our program, similar to:

  1. More Interactive Q&As: During the conference, each presenter will be given time for Q&A with the attendees. Pre-recorded presentations will be available in advance of the event, enabling attendees review in detail prior to the live sessions. Continue the conversation after a session with roundtables.

  2. Time-shifted Sessions: We're adjusting the timing of some live presentations and Q&A to better accommodate global participation in those sessions.

  3. Discussion Groups: Invite your peers to self-organized discussion groups and social interactions through our upgraded virtual event platform. You can create a topic and invite other attendees to join the discussion or enter a topic-specific group video chat created by the conference organizers.

  4. Social Interactivity: Looking for more casual interaction as well? Create discussion threads and engage with your peers around hot topics in your industry.

  5. 1:1 Chats: Connect at any time with other attendees to expand your network – informal and at your own pace.

MGM Resorts is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse culture, not just among employees and guests but also within its supply chain. The company prioritizes procuring goods and services from businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, people with disabilities, LGBTQ individuals and those facing economic disadvantages. This commitment is integral to MGM Resorts' global procurement strategy.    Through its voluntary supplier diversity program, MGM Resorts actively identifies and connects certified diverse-owned suppliers to opportunities within its supply chain. The company is on track to spend at least 15% of its biddable procurement with diverse-owned businesses by 2025, demonstrating that supplier diversity is not only a social responsibility but also a strategic business imperative.    Supplier diversity isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s good for business. A diverse supply chain allows access to a broader range of perspectives and experience, helping to drive innovation, entrepreneurship and resilience, while strengthening communities. At MGM Resorts, engaging diverse suppliers ensures best-in-class experiences for guests and clients. Supplier diversity ensures a more resilient supply chain while supporting economic development in the communities in which it operates.   The impact of MGM Resorts' supplier diversity initiatives is significant. The story extends beyond the numbers – it reflects the tangible benefits brought to small and diverse-owned businesses, fostering economic empowerment in their communities.    MGM Resorts also supports the development and business skills of diverse-owned businesses through investment, mentorship and education. Through the MGM Resorts Supplier Diversity Mentorship Program, the company identifies, mentors and develops diverse-owned businesses to fill its future pipeline, while providing businesses with tools and resources to empower and uplift. Since 2017, the program has successfully graduated 105 diverse-owned businesses and is on track to achieve its goal of 150 graduates by 2025.     MGM Resorts’ commitment to supplier diversity not only enhances its business operations but also plays a crucial role in uplifting communities and fostering economic development.
