Even after securing several new exhibitors in the past six months, Market Center Management Company has decided to scrap plans for the Nashville Medical Trade Center, citing not enough long-term leases signed to continue with the project.

In a few short days, I will be joining many of the most passionate and committed professionals in the face-to-face industry. Convening Leaders, (Professional Convention Management Association's) annual convention, begins this weekend in San Diego and I look forward to the experience every year. When it comes to top-notch industry education, there was something for everyone at the Professional Convention Management Association’s annual meeting, Convening Leaders.

The Professional Convention Management Association has unveiled its education gateway portal, EduGate, for idea and session proposal submissions and management.


The new online application will facilitate the 24/7, 365 day submission of session proposals and other ideas.

If sold-out exhibit space at a trade show devoted to homegoods and housewares is any indication of an economy on the mend, then the recent International Home + Housewares Show may just be a bellwether event.


Held March 10-13 at McCormick Place in Chicago, the annual housewares giant continued its second year of show floor growth by drawing 2,130 exhibitors, of which 500 were new, with 30 percent from outside the U.S.

The newly named Exhibit & Event Marketers Association (E2MA), formed by the combining of the Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA) and the Exhibitor Appointed Contractors Association (EACA), has unveiled plans for the 3rd annual Red Diamond Congress.


The event will be held July 10-12 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
