Informa Australia, part of the Informa Exhibitions, has announced the acquisition of the Australian Home Buyers & Investor Show from Event Management International (EMI). No financial details have been disclosed. Australian Home Buyers & Investor Show, in its 7th year, is focused on home buyers and property investors in Australia. According to media reports, the deal also includes another of EMI’s events, Trading & Investing Seminars & Expo, which was launched in 2001 and provides information and education to traders and investors. Messe Frankfurt’s Spring edition of the Interstoff Asia Essential exhibition, held earlier this month, recorded a total of 229 exhibitors and 7,244 visitors. Interstoff Asia Essential – Spring was held from 13th to 15th March at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The Australian International Motor Show(AIMS) has announced the cancellation of the 2013 edition of the exhibition which was originally scheduled to be held in June in Melbourne. According to the organiser of AIMS, the decision to cancel was based on consensus from the local auto industry and it follows a trend of recent suspensions and cancellations of motor shows in in London, Zagreb and Amsterdam. Asian-inspired Resorts World Las Vegas will add more than half a million square feet of convention space to the city when it opens in 2016. Malaysia-based Genting Group is banking on iconic Asian elements, including the replica of the Great Wall of China, red-roofed pagoda-style buildings and a panda habitat, at its new 87-acre development on the Strip. When associations and event organizers engage Wyndham Jade as their housing, vendor they will have a new mobile-friendly way for attendees to book hotel rooms within the room block. RoomLogicTM powers the Web site using HTML5 and adapted CSS. This means at least the housing portion of your event site will reformat to fit within any type of screen. The RoomLogicTM Web sites automatically redraw themselves, creating a streamlined, desktop-like hotel booking experience on mobile devices. There is no app to download. After a busy end to 2012, this year started off a little slower in the M&A exhibitions and conferences market, with 16 deals valued at $168 million in the first quarter, compared with 15 deals valued at $263 million during Q1 last year, signaling a 38-percent drop in value. Until now, there hasn’t been a trade show to serve the explosive growth of the multibillion dollar craft beverage industry. Next year, though, a new event produced by VP International, the Craft Beverage Expo, will launch May 6-8 at the San Jose (Calif.)
