Showcare Event Solutions, a company in the event registration and housing industry space, has teamed up with QuickMobile, a company with enterprise mobile event applications. Meet AC, a tourism development agency designed to attract meetings and conventions to Atlantic City, has officially launched three new websites this year and three more websites are in the works to launch within the next six months. Recently, Meet AC has established our convention website, www.meetinac.com, which features our convention calendar, comprehensive meeting planner tools such as guides, floor plans, specs and RFP forms, along with marketing materials such as a press kit, press releases, video podcasts and employee contact information. In the very early history of the web, browser plug-ins played a vital role by enabling rich online multimedia experiences and complex web application functionality. However, along with these capabilities, plugins came with some inherent weaknesses that soon came to the forefront, and have ultimately contributed to their rapid downfall.    Plugins consume an excessive amount of system resources and expose networks to serious security risks. Smart City Networks, an event telecommunications and technology services company for the convention industry, has been awarded a new contract with the San Diego Convention Center Corporation, which manages, markets and operates the San Diego Convention Center, following a competitive bid process. The 10-year deal will allow Smart City to provide additional services and upgrades for the venue.
